Kvant

Guide

Getting started

Encrypt your first file in under a minute. No accounts. No uploads. Nothing leaves your device.

  1. .01

    Open the app

Go to the app from any browser. No installation required. Kvant runs entirely in your browser, nothing is downloaded to your device beyond the page itself.

    Open app →
  2. .02

Connect your wallet or use a key file

Connect MetaMask or Phantom to generate your encryption identity from your wallet. The first time on a device you sign the same message twice, which confirms your wallet gives the same keys every session. That signature is your encryption key: sign the Kvant message only on kvant.world, because anyone who gets it can open your files. Prefer not to connect, or want keys that do not rest on your wallet’s curve? Generate an encrypted key file instead: its keys are random and passphrase-protected, so if curves fall, an attacker still has to break ML-KEM-768 too.

  3. .03

    Drop your file

Drag any file onto the drop zone, or use the file picker. Any format, any type. The filename and the exact size are encrypted along with the content.

  4. .04

    Download the .kvant file

Your encrypted file downloads as a .kvant container. Store it anywhere, cloud, USB, email attachment. Without your key, only the format header is readable: the contents and the filename stay sealed, and the overall length still tracks the file size.

  5. .05

    Decrypt anytime

To decrypt, switch to Decrypt mode and drop the .kvant file. Connect the same wallet you encrypted with (or provide the same key file). The original file is recovered locally, never uploaded.

Things worth knowing

  • Back up your key file in at least two separate locations. There is no recovery if you lose it. Using a wallet? Save a key file backup of the same keys with Back up keys in the app.
  • Free tier supports files up to 25 MB and 3 encryptions per day. Hold $KVANT to unlock higher limits.
  • Encrypting never sends a transaction and costs no gas.
  • The .kvant format is self-contained and needs no account. Open it on any device with the app and the same wallet or key file it was encrypted to.
