Terms of Service

The short rules for a client-side encryption tool.

1. Acceptance

By using Kvant (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Kvant is

Kvant is a client-side encryption tool. All cryptographic operations run entirely in your browser. No file content, key material, or personal data is ever transmitted to our servers: because we have no servers that process your data.

3. Your keys, your responsibility

Encryption keys are derived from your wallet or a key file you control. Kvant does not store, escrow, or have access to your keys. If you lose access to your keys, your encrypted files are permanently unrecoverable. We cannot help you decrypt your files.

4. Beta software

The Service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Kvant is in active development. Do not use it as your sole method of storing critical data. Always maintain unencrypted backups of important files.

5. Prohibited use

You may not use Kvant to encrypt or distribute content that violates applicable law, including but not limited to content related to illegal weapons, controlled substances, or material that exploits minors.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kvant and its operators are not liable for any loss of data, loss of access to encrypted files, or other damages arising from use of the Service.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
